Local leaders dedicate memorial at Civic Center Plaza to honor first responders

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Elected officials, fire department leaders, and law enforcement leaders gathered on Wednesday to dedicate a memorial honoring the service of local first responders. The focus of the memorial are Monroe County s firefighters, EMS professionals, 911 dispatchers and others who serve the community. Local leaders and first responders gathered in Civic Center Plaza for the ceremony. No memorial can replace the person that you ve lost. No ceremony, no matter how meaningful, can fully express what their absence has meant to you and your family. But I do hope that this place offers some comfort in knowing that your loved one s sacrifice will always be part of the history of Monroe County, said Monroe County Executive Adam Bello. The memorial is located outdoors between the Monroe County Hall of Justice and the Public Safety Building.
